MSME/SSI/NSIC Registration

MSME registration or UDYAM Registration can be obtained by any type of business entity. Proprietorships, Hindu Undivided Family, Partnership Firm, One Person Company, Limited Liability Partnership, Private Limited Company, Limited Company, Producer Company, any association of persons, co-operative societies or any other undertaking can obtain MSME registration in India. Small businesses having MSME registration enjoy various benefits under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006. Hence, it is recommended that all small businesses obtain MSME registration or UDYAM Registration after starting up.

Classification Of MSME Companies

  • Micro Enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed one crore rupees and turnover does not exceed five crore rupees;
  • Small Enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed ten crore rupees and turnover does not exceed fifty crore rupees; and
  • Medium Enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed fifty crore rupees and turnover does not exceed two hundred and fifty crore rupees.

Benefits Of MSME/Udhyam Registration

  • It will be a permanent registration and basic identification number for an enterprise.
  • There will be no need for renewal of Registration.
  • Any number of activities including manufacturing or service or both may be specified or added in one Registration.   • The Udyam Registration may also help MSMEs in availing the benefits of Schemes of Ministry of MSMEs such as Credit Guarantee Scheme, Public Procurement Policy, additional edge in Government Tenders & Protection against delayed payments etc.
